Mission
Our mission is to bring together sons and daughters of Lebialem Division in Calgary with the aim of providing support, advice, fellowship, and sustain unity. We also aim at promoting sustainable development and the Lebialem culture through information and cultural practices with the hope of transmitting this culture to interested parties and our off springs who happen to be far away from home.
Our Objectives
To foster the interest and pride in the cultural heritage of the Labialem community; stimulating and encouraging the development of cultural projects and activities in Lebialem and Calgary.Serve as a forum and setting for enhancing and promoting cultural awareness/values amongst Lebialem families.
Provide assistance in various forms to the people of Lebialem residing at home and in Calgary in time of need.
Work together to advance the civic welfare, and foster solidarity amongst its members and families. Be involved in facilitating the integration of new immigrants into Canadian society.
Events
LECDA-Calgary is a vibrant community with members from the different subdivisions of Lebialem. We promote togetherness particularly amongst the kids born of Lebialem parents. To foster this togetherness, we have a BBQ every summer in the month of July. This year, our July rendez-vous will be dedicated to launching the association.
We also have an end of year celebration on December of each year in which we celebrate the successes of the year and children born to Lebialem parents on the particular year are also celebrated
